The Grieviary is a compendium of thoughts and reflections dedicated to understanding the rigors of grief through philosophical inquiry, critical analysis, and the careful observation of human experience.

These pages do not offer instructions on how you should live with grief. Nor are they simply a list of grief’s various manifestations – from the sharp pains of death to the profound sorrow of bereavement, from the subtle melancholies that accompany life’s inevitable changes to the ambiguity of nonfinite loss. Stylistic consistency, rational precision, and broad relatability are not the goals.

Rather, The Grieviary aims to shed light on the paths of grief, offering varied perspectives on its complexities and cultivating a deeper understanding of this fundamental aspect of the human condition. The goal is not to provide you with tools to predict and control grief, but to experience and describe and to explore the possibilities of how you might live with grief.
